QSP Job Description
Qualifications
1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. Must pass Applicant Background Check Study Approval
3. Knowledge of the philosophy of EIDBI Benefits.
4. Be a physician, advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), developmental or behavioral pediatrician or licensed mental health professional as defined in Minn. Stat. §245I.04, subd. 2.
5. At least 2,000 hours of clinical experience and/or training in the examination and/or treatment of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or a related condition.
6. Be able to provide treatment within their scope of practice and license.
7. Completed the equivalent in graduate-level coursework at an accredited university.
Note: Coursework must be documented in one or more of the following areas: ASD or a related condition diagnosis, ASD or a related condition treatment strategies or child development
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure the individual treatment plan (ITP) and all EIDBI services provided take into consideration the person’s and family’s values, goals, preferences, culture and language
• Determine with the parent/primary caregiver the level of parent/primary caregiver training and counseling provided
• Develop, monitor, approve and sign the person’s initial ITP and each updated ITP
• Coordinate and implement coordinated care conferences
• Supervise, manage and review all aspects of EIDBI services, treatment and documentation (including case notes and incident reports) to ensure compliance and fidelity
• Supervise and oversee all EIDBI services provided by level I, II and II providers (including billing, case notes and other documentation)
• Perform all of the clinical supervision functions required by their professional licensing board and as defined in this policy manual.
The QSP assumes full professional responsibility for the services provided by each supervisee, including each supervisee’s actions and decisions.
The QSP must ensure their caseload size allows them to deliver services to people with a range of needs, from complex to less intensive. The QSP’s caseload size should enable them to play an active role in planning, coordinating, monitoring, training and supervising the team in order to meet the individual needs of the person and family, as specified in each person’s ITP.
NOTE:
If the QSP leaves the agency or experiences an absence longer than 31 consecutive days, the agency must have another QSP take over these responsibilities to continue providing services.
Degree of Authority
The QSP must report to the Executive Director of Twin Cities Support Services .
